Tutti Frutti Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

I’ve been a little MIA here on the blog, due to some health issues. I’ve had to prioritize the most important things and sadly, the blog wasn’t one of them. I created a lot of content that I didn’t post, so I will be posting some recipes and projects that I did a while back. Today however, I have a recipe that I made this week, using a delicious seasonal ingredient I picked up at Target. Favorite Day Lavender Lemonade whipped dairy topping. Nope, this is not sponsored, I just happen to really like this flavor of whipped cream. If you have read the about section on the blog, or heard me go on and on and on about lavender flavor, you already knew that I tried it.

To be completely honest, the Favorite Day Lavender Lemonade whipped cream doesn’t taste like lavender or lemonade or lemon at all. It tastes across between Fruity Pebbles and Juicy Fruit. I know it sounds really weird, but it’s tasty. Strawberries are in full swing so it was only natural that I come up with a way to combine the two! There are theories about the flavor of Juicy Fruit being based on the flavor of jackfruit and while I don’t know if it’s true or not, I can attest that I think the flavors are very much alike.

This strawberry shortcake combines the flavors of: lemon, strawberries and jackfruit to create a tutti frutti flavor. Why should you make a tutti frutti shortcake? Well, because it’s delicious and it’s another way to use up all the flats of strawberries that you picked up from the farmer’s market! Like you needed an excuse to use up your strawberries. The Favorite Day Lavender Lemonade whipped dairy topping is a unique bird and it isn’t so cut and dry what you can do with it. This recipe might get your recipe gears revving, for other ways to use the lavender lemon whipped cream!
